Course Overview

This structured programme focuses on advanced skin science, treatment planning, and safe aesthetic practice. You will complete ONE OfQUAL-regulated qualification pathway, choosing between three awarding bodies:

• Focus Awards
• ProQual
• Qualify

⚠️ All pathways cover similar core knowledge and learning outcomes—the key difference lies in the learning and assessment style.

Choosing Your Awarding Body

We offer flexibility to suit different learning styles and strengths:

• Focus Awards – Best suited for kinaesthetic (hands-on) learners, offering a more practical and applied approach to learning and assessment.
• ProQual & Qualify – Ideal for academic learners who are comfortable with more in-depth theory, written assignments, and structured coursework.

No matter which route you choose, you will gain a recognised OFQUAL regulated Level 4 qualification.

Qualification Pathways & Units

ProQual Level 4 Diploma in Aesthetic Treatments and Skin Science

Mandatory Units:

• Health and Safety in a Salon Environment
• Infection Control and Prevention for Cosmetic, Aesthetic and Needle Related Treatments
• Ethics and Principles for Aesthetic Treatments
• Advanced Skin Science for Aesthetic Treatments
• Advanced Skin Assessment and Investigative Consultation for Aesthetic Treatments

Optional Units (Choose a minimum of 4):

• Principles and Practice of Cosmetic Micropigmentation
• Eyebrow Micropigmentation (Microblading –Manual Method)
• Principles and Practice of Scalp Micropigmentation
• Removal of Skin Blemishes, Skin Tags and Moles Using Non-Surgical Cosmetic Procedures
• Skin Tightening Using the Plasma Pen
• Principles and Practice of Microneedling Treatments
• Principles and Practice of Chemical Peel Treatments
• Principles and Practice of Dermaplaning Treatments

Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Aesthetic Practice (Core Knowledge & Advanced Skin Science)

• Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology (or equivalent)
• Previous experience in beauty or aesthetics is recommended
• Must be 18+
• Good level of English and communication
